Virgin Islands Crewed Yacht Charter Catamaran Flip Flop Guest Comments

Hello Everyone,

Ji and I are so excited for another season, Yes that’s right I will be back for my 5th Season and Ji for her 2nd. And we wanted to send a warm thank you to all the yacht charter brokers for all their hard work for helping make it such a great season. And to everyone that will help make next season just as amazing. We really could not do what we do without you.

A few Guest Comments from the Season

For John & I, the most favorite part of any vacation that we ever take, is doing something “on thewater” – so we knew that this type of vacation was something that was suitable to us. Flip Flop did NOT disappoint! 

Jens was MOST professional; he takes his job very seriously – and as a passenger on this type of vacation, that gave me great comfort and security – knowing that at ALL TIMES, he was appropriately responsible and professional!!! Ji did an amazing job appealing to our taste buds; she made fantastic meals that we just devoured – and now have to work on our waistlines ....or I do, anyways!! Both Jens & Ji ensured that we were not only satisfied with, but thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our time on Flip Flop. They are an amazing crew!

As for the catamaran, itself, I was relieved to see that it looked “just like it did in the photos”. There have been surprises in the past, where once you “see” your accommodations, somehow they look older; more “tired” than a photo represents, but not in this scenario. Flip Flop is clearly well maintained, and I thought this boat was just the perfect size for 2 couples and the crew. We had room – and as long as we stayed out of Ji ’s kitchen –when she was prepping – all good. Donna & I were grateful that we never became the “Boat bleep, bleeps...”– we left that up to John & Larry to “mess up” and break boat rules – haha....

Jens and Ji,
I've had such a blast this week... It will be a vacation I will always remember, and I have cherished every minute of it.
Learning to paddle board and diving for the first time. I have seen things that I had only dreamed about in the past. Thanks for teaching me how to use our camera's and helping us capture those memories.
Ji, you have cooked some delicious food, and things that I probably never would have tried. I have now fallen in love with those experiences. Thank you again for such a wonderful week.

This was the best vacation ever!! Y'all always made sure that we were having fun! Between the snorkeling, scuba diving, hiking and paddle boarding there was always something to do and see! Ji’s food was absolutely delicious!

Jens & Ji, What an incredible week. There are no words to describe the memories we have made with our family. How incredibly blessed we are to be able to enjoy the magnificent beauty!! I feel as if I have been in the most amazing dream that lasted for and entire week!
Thanks Jens for being such an incredible Captain and playmate - especially with our kids. Watching them have new experiences thrilled my heart! Thank you Ji, for spoiling us with such fabulous food. It was so fun to watch and enjoy your meals... Too bad Mom has to be the chef when we return home.... such a let down!! Thank you both from the bottom of my heart for such an incredible memory. We have had some really great guests onboard S/Y Flipflop this year, both first time guests and repeat guests, and it has been our pleasure to help them make some lasting memories, Everything from beautiful sunsets, great food, water activities, spotting the occasional dolphin, to scuba diving with cute and cuddly reef sharks. Great dinner time conversations with new friends, and some old ones. We really could not ask for a better profession.

CREW PROFILE: 
If you can’t find Jens or Ji on board S/V Flip Flop preparing a gourmet meal or otherwise seeing to their guests, you are sure to find them nearby, in or under the water. Both have a strong passion for the freedom and adventure of sailing as well as the great outdoors and its wonders. They were both drawn to the ocean at an early age.
Originally from San Diego, Capt. Jens knew from the time of his first sailing lesson that his calling would be shaped by the sea. From Hobie Cat racing and scuba diving as a teenager, to serving as a Patrol Boat Captain in the U.S. Navy, his calling and connection to the ocean has always been there.
Once his service in the Navy was up, he immediately took up teaching sailing and delivering sailboats around the Caribbean. Eventually, he made his way onto larger luxury Yachts and found himself in places like the South Pacific, the Mediterranean and South America just to name a few.

After a few years on larger yachts, Jens decided that the more personal and friendly nature of smaller charter yachts was more to his liking. He loves one on one time with guests and teaching sailing to anyone who wants to learn.

Captain Jens has over 20,000 miles at sea. He is a U.S. Coast Guard 100 ton Master Captain as well as a PADI divemaster and is commercially endorsed as an Offshore Yachtmaster. Jens looks forward to teaching you to sail also loves Kite Boarding and would be more than willing to take you to all of the Kite Boarding "Hot Spots" in the Virgin Islands while guiding you through the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean!

Jens and Ji have sailed and chartered together for many years. Along Eastern Seaboard of the US, and within the Bahamas, and around the Caribbean Sea. Together for many years and recently married here in the islands, these two are ready to show you the trip of a lifetime. They are a one-two punch of adventurous activity, and stellar service that will bring your charter experience to new levels.

The Peterson’s met while traveling way out west in the American Rockies, and since then have been knocking on excitement’s door and looking for fun in all the right places. These are two people who take learning and educating to the next level, while always striving to try new things and perfect their skills. Come aboard Flip Flop to learn new techniques or advance your experience in all of the charter activities.

Ji grew up in South Korea surrounded by the Pacific Ocean, enjoying its calming water, breezes, and seafood. She was lured by the sea, and it’s mysterious charm, and eventually came to the US to study abroad and further her perspective. She has a degree in Education, and loves to incorporate that schooling into her work on board. After her studies, she spent time in the center of the world’s yachting industry in Fort Lauderdale where she was certified in Super Yacht Interior Management, Hospitality, Food Hygiene, as well as Yacht Safety.


Ji has chartered on sail boats and super yachts which makes her attention to service well-rounded. Her culinary background is extensive and covers many different types of cuisine. While she prefers to experiment with Western variations in her cooking, she loves to incorporate her Eastern background providing authentic dishes like Bulgogi, Kim Chi, and fantastic Korean BBQ. Ji brings the flavors of the world to Flip Flop and to her charter guests.
